Here's my report on the cruise:

Just to let you know that I have just got back from my month in the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean on board Cunard's Queen Victoria. She's a lovely big new ship with about 2000 passengers and 1000 crew.

Good points were:

  1. Flexible dress code.
  2. Two excellent orchestras (ballroom and theatre).
  3. Excellent programme of up to 3 lectures per sea day.
  4. Retractable sun roof over Winter Garden (but seldom opened)!
  5. No silly rules to obey (e.g. access to pools and jacuzzis).
  6. Some good theme nights (Indian, Egyptian etc).
  7. Free (small) launderette on every deck.
  8. Good cabaret acts & production shows.
  9. Planning spreadsheet for us.
  10. Fridge and minibar in cabin.
  11. Efficient cabin steward.
  12. Lovely treble height Royal Court Theatre.
  13. Lovely treble height Grand Lobby.
  14. Quiet and smooth outboard propulsion pods.
  15. Indian visa reimbursed!
  16. Evening off: One per month.
  17. Choice between restaurant and cafeteria for dinner:

Usual sea day programme:
